Three Tips for Staying Sane During College

It’s that time of year again! A new semester of college is right around the corner, and it’s time to start getting ready. Over the last few years at school, I have learned a few important things that can help with your journey. Here are three things that I recommend that helped me maintain my sanity during college:

1. Exercise - There’s a workout for whatever kind of mood you’re in. Feeling stressed? Try yoga. Feeling frustrated? Try a spin class. Or feeling that you just need some time to get lost in some good music? Go for a run. Exercise is important to maintain your physical and mental health, and I find it is one of the best ways to keep myself happy and healthy. After a long day, a little bit of time spent on yourself can help.

2. Take time for yourself - No matter how things are going, listen to what your body needs. Whether it be watching Netflix, going for a walk, or hanging out with friends, make the time. No one enjoys burnout, and taking time to enjoy the things you love can help you immensely.

3. Keep an organized planner - Write everything down no matter what. Getting distracted easily happens, and remembering what the professor said 12 hours ago about your paper due at midnight can be hard. Keep a detailed list of what is due and when it's due to keep yourself on top of things. This new semester brings new opportunities for everyone! Best of luck with this new chapter!
