Membership Spotlight: Casey Tinney

Our fourth membership spotlight of the semester is Casey! This is her fifth semester in PRSSA, and she is really standing out! Here is a Q&A we had with her!

Q: Where are you from? What is your major/minor?

A: I'm from Bel Air, Maryland, and I'm a Communication Studies major with a minor in Public Relations.

Q: How long have you been a member of PRSSA?

A: I've been a member of PRSSA since Spring 2018, my freshman year.

Q: Why do you love PRSSA? What do you hope to get out of it?

A: I love PRSSA because everyone involved is very supportive and encouraging.  People really want to see you do well and accomplish your goals, and are always willing to help you with professional development and with any class things as well!  With PRSSA I hope to develop better relationships with my peers in the PR field, as well as learn more about the field in general.

Q: What committee are you a part of? What have you done with this committee?

A: I'm part of the community service committee.  We've done a lot over the past two semesters, like going to soup kitchens, working on a canned food drive, and we're currently working on the Teahan awards submission.

Q: What PRSSA events have you participated in?

A: Most of the PRSSA events I've participated in are through the community service committee.  I've gone to Grace Cafe to volunteer, as well as Sunday Breakfast.

Q: What other TU organizations are you a part of?

A: I'm an account associate with PRowl, and I'm also a member of the Diamond Marching Band.

Q: Coolest place you’ve ever traveled to?

A: I studied abroad in London last spring, so I guess I'd say that's the coolest place I've been.

Q: Favorite social media platform and why?

A: My favorite social media platform is Twitter.  I think it's a great platform for staying in touch with the news, but it also is more relaxed and humorous than other social media platforms.

Q: Dream job?

A: I don't know if I have a specific dream job, but I'd really like to work on the communications staff for a professional sports team.
