You can find a true hidden gem in the peculiarly named Fishtown. Those who are not
familiar with the area sneer at the name, Fishtown. However, there are many attractions worth visiting if you find yourself in Philadelphia. Popular news outlets usually mention places such as Frankford Hall, but just 394 feet away you will find Bottle Bar East. This spot truly has it all. Phenomenal food, flat screens for sports events, a foosball table, an outdoor patio, a wide wall of beer selections, and so much more. From the outside you would never guess what is hiding beyond the front-end shop.
The convenience shop carries pure Coca-Cola imported from Mexico, artisan cheeses, and
hundreds of different imported beers. Just beyond the shop, you will find a quaint bar area.
A bit farther into the bar, you will walk right onto the outdoor patio.
Upstairs you will find a foosball table and larger dining space with another bar! This gem also holds live music events throughout the week. Their food selections range from the staples of cauldron mac and cheese and cumin dry rub wings, to daily specials that are even more unique. They turn grilled cheeses into absolute masterpieces. A fried green tomato grilled cheese with bacon, yes please!
The next time you find yourself in Philly, you have to stop by this hidden city secret. Whether you want to catch the big game, hang out with friends, or grab a beer and chill on the patio, there truly is something for everyone. Oh, and if going out is not your thing you can take any of those craft beers to go! What are you waiting for?
